As communication designers, we often find ourselves working with a range of images which are often sourced or supplied by the client or third parties (e.g. stock image or photo agencies). However, there is also a rich tradition within the field of the visual arts and graphic design with regards to the use of ‘found’ images.
This artist book presents a visual stimulation on Entomophobia–fear of insects using 'found' images sourced from the Baygon website, focusing on visuals that present the top view of insects similar to that of a mounted insect display. Images were manipulated by masking the background and repeating the insects accordingly to their page number. Viewers are supposed to use the attached magnifying card to enhance the visual experience.
